CAEAA Member At Large, Former Trustee Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and former Director of Adult Education Mt. Diablo Unified School District
Joanne Durkee worked at Mt. Diablo Adult Education for 37 years, retiring from her position as Director in 2015. During her tenure, she also held a number of positions with CCAE, including State Leg Chair, and continues to be a Board Member for CAEAA. She has often said ‘the passion doesn’t retire.’ In 2016 she was elected as a Board Member for Mt. Diablo Unified School District where she continued to be a strong supporter of K12 Adult Education. Joanne is currently focused on reaching out to Board members in other districts to ask them to actively advocate for Adult Education.
