Joseph Stark

Joseph Stark began his career in adult education 22 years ago as an ESL teacher in LAUSD at the Venice Community Adult School. He was the Director/Principal of Adult Education for the Burbank Unified School District from 2009 to 2014. He returned to LAUSD as a division administrator in 2014. In 2016, he became Executive Director of the Division of Adult and Career Education. Joseph is a proven and respected adult education leader with a substantial history and record of success as a teacher, site administrator and district director. He is results-driven and practical with a focus on effective collaboration and transparency with diverse stakeholder groups. In addition to being a champion of career technical education, he has led efforts in numerous areas such as integrated education and training, comprehensive college and career counseling strategies, apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship and innovative approaches to continuous program improvement and professional development of administrators, teachers and staff. Whenever Joseph has spare time, you might find him at the golf course trying in vain to break 90.
