Kathleen Porter has been involved with adult education and workforce development in the San Diego area since 1987. Kathleen is currently the Executive Director of Career Technical, Adult, and Alternative Education in the Poway Unified School District. Kathleen serves in a variety of state and regional leadership roles; she is the Past President for the California Council for Adult Education, a long-time member of CALPRO’s Professional Advisory Board, the K-12 chairperson to the Southern Border Region’s Strong Workforce Program workgroup, and a representative to the newly formed Practice and Operations Advisory Committee for the Governor’s Cradle to Career data project. A former teacher, resource teacher and career education specialist, Kathleen also previously served as the manager of the East County Career Center, part of the San Diego Workforce Partnership’s One-Stop Career Center network (now known as the America’s Job Centers of California).
