Laura Chardiet currently works as the Coordinator of Program and Policy Development for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE). In that capacity, she oversees the largest Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Title II grant in the state of California. Since 2006, Laura has also served on the California WIOA, Title II Program Evaluation Team which acts as a field advisory group to assist the California Department of Education (CDE) and CASAS Evaluation Project staff in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data obtained from WIOA Title II-funded programs in California. Laura is also responsible for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with the City and County of Los Angeles Workforce Development Boards with the primary goal of providing a clearer and enhanced pathway to the middle class for adult learners in the region – especially those with high barriers to employment.
Laura also had the honor to serve on the Culver City Unified School District’s Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2014. Her experience as a mother, educator and local community leader has provided her with opportunities to advocate for public education funding and the value of adult education at the local, state and federal levels.
