G. Vittoria Abbate, CCAE State Legislative ChairVittoria Abbate has served as Mt. Diablo USD Adult Education, Director, College & Career and Adult Education since 2015. She also has served since 2015 as Co-Chair of the Contra Costa County Adult Education Consortium (CCCAEC) in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As Chair of the California Council for Adult Education (CCAE) State Legislative Committee Vittoria has led the development and evolution of legislative strategy and innovative initiatives since 2015. From major funding and policy legislation to meaningful relationship cultivation with policymakers, Vittoria has influenced numerous, high-impact legislative victories for Adult Learners and Educators across the state. |
Joanne Durkee, CAEAA Member At Large, Former Trustee Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and former Director of Adult Education Mt. Diablo Unified School District
Joanne Durkee worked at Mt. Diablo Adult Education for 37 years, retiring from her position as Director in 2015. During her tenure, she also held a number of positions with CCAE, including State Leg Chair, and continues to be a Board Member for CAEAA. She has often said ‘the passion doesn’t retire.’ In 2016 she was elected as a Board Member for Mt. Diablo Unified School District where she continued to be a strong supporter of K12 Adult Education. Joanne is currently focused on reaching out to Board members in other districts to ask them to actively advocate for Adult Education.
