Adult Ed New Administrators
As an adult education administrator, you will oversee the activities, budgets, employees, and students for a single department or an entire campus. Your administrative duties might include hiring staff, monitoring test scores, counseling students, collaborating with communities, and communicating with your district supervisors or superintendent. This workshop will bring a panel of K-12 adult Ed administrators to share with participants their experience, success, and expertise.

Dr. PaoLing Guo has been an adult school administrator at ABC Adult School for the last 20 years. She is committed to ensuring K12 Adult Education remains strong in the state and has been working hard to support more stable funding for the K12 Adult Education. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in education from National Normal University in Taiwan, a master’s degree in Educational Communication and Technology from New York University, and a doctoral degree in the Educational Leadership and Administration from University of Southern California. Her professional background of more than 38 years of experiences in education provides her with the personal and communication skills to help resolve conflicts and build consensus among diverse groups and perspectives. This combination of experience, dedication and skills resulted her to be selected as the Woman of the Year by the 27th Senatorial District in 2010 and by the 58th Assembly District in 2015. She was also selected as the Administrator of the Year by the Los Angeles County Industrial and Technology Education Association (LACITEA) in 2018.

Blanca Rochin, Principal, Downey Adult SchoolBlanca Rochin is the 2020 ACSA State Adult Education Administrator of the Year recipient. She received her bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University, her teaching credential from the University of California, San Diego and her master’s in educational leadership degree from Concordia University, Irvine.
She began teaching anatomy and physiology at a private school setting in 2000, then joined the Downey Unified School District team in 2003 as a CTE teacher (medical assistant teacher) at Downey Adult School. Her passion for education and leadership skills allowed her to move into administration- as the Assistant Principal in 2007 and now is serving as the Principal of Downey Adult School since 2010. |
Micah Goins, Director, Adult Career and Technical Education

Nancy Amara, Assistant Principal, ABC Adult School
Nancy Amara started working at ABC Adult School teaching in the Academics department in 2003. Nancy has been an assistant principal since 2015. She oversees the Community Education and Programs for Adults with Disabilities departments. Nancy also is the site administrator for ABC Adult School’s satellite campus, Cabrillo Lane. Nancy oversees the WASC accreditation and works closely with the COE accreditation.
